Holiday Fashion by Stacie Money
The holidays are approaching are fast, so it’s time to start preparing for the festivities. You can be prepared without breaking your budget if you have some holiday essentials in your closet that are ready-to-go for whatever event comes your way. Here’s our list of items to check for and pick up along the way if they are missing from your closet right now…
Keep it Classy
Everyone need is a LBD (little black dress) in their closet, but the holidays are the time to spice up the classic LBD. Dress is up with a sparkly scarf, a beaded shawl, or a sequin jacket…and don’t forget the statement jewelry piece that you’ve picked up for the holiday season!
Sassy in Sequins
Sequins don’t have to be over-the-top. There are many different options to dress up your outfit with sequins to holiday standards. Try a sequin dress or skirt for a glamorous evening, or just dress up a pant or jean outfit with a sequin trimmed tank, cardigan, or jacket.
Lady in Red
Keep a flattering red dress in your closet for an occasion when your LBD just isn’t festive enough. A gorgeous red dress will brighten your mood and your wardrobe and is easy to accessorize with silver statement jewelry, heels, and a clutch.
All that Glitters
For the more casual holiday outing, keep a glittery and glamorous T-shirt in your holiday collection. Your favorite jeans (that look fantastic on you) or pair of basic black pants with your holiday heels is all you will need to be ready!
The holiday season calls for an amazing cashmere or merino wool sweater to throw over your shoulders on a chilly evening. This fashion staple will add a touch of elegance…or a glitzy flare if your sweater is trimmed out with rhinestones or sequins.
Metallic Show Stoppers
A pair of strappy sandal heels in your favorite metallic hue (silver, gold, bronze) is a must. They will work with most any of the holiday fashion staples already mentioned. Make sure you have a clutch in the same hue and this pairing will get you through Christmas and New Year’s events.
Last, but not Least
You never know when you’ll be invited to a Christmas sweater party, so be on the lookout for the most fun, sparkly, and tacky Christmas sweater you can find. These parties are so popular that we can’t keep these sweaters in stock during the holiday season – the tackier, the better.
Wear it With Your Own Style
Whatever you choose to wear this holiday season and however you choose to show off your holiday style do it with confidence! Some of these suggestions will work for you and others may not be “you”, so make it your own style with your own unique touches! Fringe is unique in that it carries hundreds of brands in hundreds of styles which makes it easy for our shoppers to find something that is just right for them…whether it be elegance, bohemian, flirty, feminine, or bold they are looking for. Come see what you can find to spruce up your holiday fashion collection!

What kind of fan are you? Do you show your school spirit in an understated way or do you go all out? Well, whichever style fits your personality best, we've put together some essentials for your Game Day closet. Pick one of these for a more understated look, or use several if you like to show your team spirit in a bolder way.
*Brightly Colored Jeans
Bright colored jeans are easy to find right now, so get them while they are hot! This is a perfect time for you to grab a pair (or a couple of pairs) at end of season prices. Some of our favorite brands that include bright colors in their designs are J Brand, Loft, J Crew, and NYDJ. The most important thing when it comes to jeans is finding the brand that fits your body type best, so find your perfect jeans and pick your team color.
* Fabulous print or school colored heels
When you find the perfect pair of heels for your school, whether it be a tiger stripe for Auburn, a black/white hounds tooth for Alabama, or a bright patent gold for GA Tech, snatch them up for your closet. Who knows when you'll see that perfect shoe again and you can wear them for years.
Find a statement necklace in your most vibrant school color at your favorite boutique and pair it with a solid dress or top for a trendy and fashionable look. You can typically find one of these pieces for under $25.
Judith March is a Southern company, so she has made a point to design dresses for those of us in the south who need fabulous dresses for Game Day. We have seen some awesome Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, and Georgia Tech dresses out there designed by Judith March. Other designers with fabulous prints to look for are Lilly Pulitzer and Tracy Negoshian.
*Classic Button-up Shirt
Ralph Lauren and J Crew are great brands to be on the hunt for when looking for this classic style. Easy to dress up or down...wear with jeans or dress up with tailored pants. When the weather cools off, grab a cardigan or blazer and your Game Day shoes, and you will be ready to show your school spirit.
These are pearls that come in school colors and have been around for a few years, so if you haven't already gotten them, maybe it's time to add them to your Game Day jewelry collection. These are also a great gift idea - I get compliments on these each and every time I wear them.
*Bright Leather Jacket
The perfect leather jacket for your style and body type may be hard to find in the perfect color for your school, so be patient. You may not have it (or find it) for this upcoming season, but be on the lookout and get it when you see it! These boldly colored jackets grab attention and can make an outfit!
At Fringe, we accept clothing on consignment that is in-season, in great condition, and is a current label, so you're sure to find some of these items on a trip to our Downtown Opelika location. Just don't wait until college football season is in full swing because anything in school colors is in high demand between September and November. Instead, keep an eye out all year long and you'll be more likely to find your Game Day essentials.

After an exceptionally cold and dreary winter, spring fashion trends are most certainly welcome. Whether you want to go all out with the latest trends or just add a few things to your existing wardrobe, these ideas range from fun and flirty to romantic or even professional enough for work. Take a look and see if any of these spring trends fit your personality or style...or just take a risk, and try something new!
Work & Play
Manageable heels, a statement necklace, and an outfit that works with or without the jacket can easily take you from the office to the evening. Mix and Match with different prints, handbags, and jewelry and you have multiple options from your own closet.
Floral patterns don't have to mean all sweetness and romance. This season gives you options with a modern take on florals. Delicate floral can be found on lightweight fabrics and have a flowing and romantic look. If that is just not you, step it up a notch with vibrant florals...bold prints, sleek lines, and bright colors. Another way to go is mismatched florals. They may sound hard to pull off, but they are easy to find on garments and you don't have to do anything but add the right heels for the outfit.
Bring on the bright shades with neon colors this season. Not sure how to wear neon? Use the colors that normally look great on you and amplify them! Is pastel peach your signature color? Try a vibrant coral. Is navy a color that works the best for you? Give electric blue a try. If you want to try the look out before you go all out, a pop of neon may be all you need with a great statement piece. Put on your favorite tailored white shirt and jeans, add your neon statement piece, and you are ready to go.
White on white on white...how does one pull that off? Be on the lookout for cut-out lace, lightweight leather, sheer layered tops, and tailored pants. If you pick the right separates, you'll end up with an exceptionally stylish look. You can always add a touch of color with your jewelry, belt, handbag, or shoes. Try it - we love this look!
Embrace the Lace
Nothing says femininity like a touch of lace...and this season is the time to try it out. Lace is everywhere -all-lace sheer tops and dresses with an underlay, trimming out jackets, folded over the edge of short boots, embellishing the pockets of jeans. Whether its crochet, knitted and knotted, embroidered lace, or a more traditional lace, it can be beautiful and easy to wear. Lace can simply be an embellishment to an outfit or you can go all out, all lace. Both are equally easy to find this season.
At Fringe, we pride ourselves on having the latest style and showcasing them for you through our displays. If you ever have any questions about a style you are looking to try or need someone to help you find that perfect piece, just ask. Our employees love to shop...whether it's for themselves or for our customers - and they are good at it. Drop by Fringe and see what's new. Since we put out 300-500 items every day, it's like a different store every time you walk in the door!
